Eleven Gateway players earned Associated Press All-America honors, including OL Chris Price and LB Sherrod Coates of Western Kentucky; PK Mackenzie Hoambrecker of UNI; and punter Mike Scifres of Western Illinois, who earned first-team plaudits. It marks just the fourth time in league history that as many as four earned first-team AP honors.
The 11 honorees mark the highest number of Gateway players honored in an Associated Press All-America unit since 1987. In addition to Price, Coates, Hoambrecker and Scifres, the following players earned second-team AP All-America honors:
