South Dakota State's Adam Bock and Western Illinois' Darius Joiner are among the 25 finalists for the 2021 Stats Perform FCS Buck Buchanan Award.

Team leader with 100 tackles … ranks third on squad with nine tackles for loss with 2.5 sacks … also forced two fumbles, intercepted a pass and broke up five other passes … blocked an extra-point attempt and returned it for two points in Oct. 30 game at Youngstown State … registered double figures in tackles six times, including each of the last three games … set career high with 17 tackles in Oct. 9 game against Southern Illinois … member of MVFC All-Newcomer Team during 2020-21 spring season

CHICAGO – Nov. 22, 2021 –- Twenty-five finalists were announced on Monday for the 2021 Stats Perform FCS Buck Buchanan Award, which is presented to the national defensive player of the year in college football’s Division I subdivision.
 
The Buchanan Award, now in its 27th season, is named for the legendary Hall of Fame defensive lineman. Past recipients include two-time winner Dexter Coakley, Rashean Mathis and Jared Allen.

Also this season, Stats Perform will present the Walter Payton Award (FCS offensive player of the year), Jerry Rice Award (FCS freshman player of the year), Eddie Robinson Award (FCS coach of the year) and Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
