Six Missouri Valley Football Conference teams are ranked in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, presented by HUDL (Sept. 2).  North Dakota State (1) and South Dakota State (2) hold the top two positions, and the league has and four of the top 7 spots, as South Dakota (6) and Illinois State (7) join NDSU and SDSU in the top 10.  

Southern Illinois is No. 15, North Dakota went from not ranked to No. 22 in this week's coaches poll, while Indiana State, UNI, and Youngstown State are all earning votes in the poll.

Including this week, six or more MVFC teams have been ranked in the same top-25 poll 83 times, including a record 12-straight weeks in 2014 (and 10 times in 2024).

It marks the 28th time in MVFC history that the league held the top two positions, which includes seven polls in 2024.  Last year, the MVFC had a minimum of four teams in the top 10 on 10 different occasions; it's happened in both polls so far this season.   Including this week, the league has had five teams in Top 15 in the same week 40 times in its history.
