UNI football: Panthers wrap non-conference play at Utah Tech
ST. GEORGE, Utah — UNI wrapped non-conference play at Utah Tech on Saturday, September 20 at Greater Zion Stadium. The Utah Tech Trailblazers took control of the contest and finished with a 20-9 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UNI opened the matchup on the defensive side of the ball and forced a quick three and out. The Trailblazers mounted an 18-play, 86-yard touchdown drive to end the first half with a 7-6 lead.
The Trailblazers scored on their first offensive possession of the second half after forcing a UNI punt. The seven-play, 92-yard scoring drive was capped by a 66-yard rushing touchdown. A 45-yard reception from Ayden Price on third and 11 gave the Cats another chance on a drive that led to Bartachek's third field goal of the game. The Trailblazers notched a pair of field goals to cap the contest with a 20-9 win.
Matthew Schecklman finished with 18 completions for 160 yards. Ayden Price was the leading receiver with 49 yards on two receptions while Bill Jackson led the running back room with 36 yards on 11 attempts. Caleb Frazer led the defense with 12 total tackles including one TFL for four yards.
