Seven MVFC teams are ranked in the Stats Perform poll, while six MVFC schools are ranked in the coaches poll. NDSU (1) and SDSU (2) hold the top two positions in both rankings. It marks the 32nd time in MVFC history that the league held the top two positions, which includes seven polls in 2024.
Including this week, six or more MVFC teams have been ranked in the same top-25 poll 87 times, including a record 12-straight weeks in 2014 (and 10 times in 2024). The league has had seven or more teams ranked in the same week 33 times in its history, including four-straight weeks this year. The MVFC has had five teams ranked in the Top 15 42 times in league history, including three occasions this season. Four league teams are ranked in the Top 10 this week.
MVFC On Top of the FCS
Missouri Valley Football Conference teams have combined for a 22-6 record against FCS teams from other conferences - that’s the best among FCS leagues. Last year, MVFC teams combined for an FCS-best 29-9 record vs. non-league FCS opponents, which included an 11-5 record against ranked FCS teams.
In the Metrics
Seven of the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s 10 programs rank in the top 25 of the Massey FCS Ratings. In Sagarin, the MVFC has four in the Top seven of that ranking metric (among FCS programs), and seven MVFC teams are in the Top 25 of FCS schools in the Sagarin rankings. North Dakota State ranks 38th among all DI programs and tops the FCS; while SDSU is No. 2 in the FCS-only ranks, and 48th in DI.
