Missouri Valley Football Announces Weekly Player Honors - 10.5.2026
This week's Missouri Valley Football Conference players of the week include QB Jerry Kaminski of North Dakota; CB Myles Green of South Dakota State; P Brook Honore of South Dakota; WR Cameron Weir of North Dakota; and RG Caleb Olson of North Dakota.
Offensive Player of the Week
QB Jerry Kaminski, North Dakota
6-2, 213, Sr., Sun Prairie, Wis. (Sun Prairie HS)
Kaminski and No. 5/7 North Dakota rebounded from a slow start to put up 55 unanswered points in a Homecoming victory over Murray State. After falling behind 21-0, Kaminski finished the 55-28 victory over the Racers with a career-high 98 rushing yards and a touchdown, while completing 18 of 24 passes for 186 yards and three touchdowns. The Sun Prairie, Wisc., native sparked a 24-0 run in the second quarter with a 26-yard scoring strike to Nathan Hromadka and a career-best, 38-yard touchdown run as the Fighting Hawks regained the lead before halftime. Following the break, Kaminski added two more touchdown passes during a 28-0 spurt in the third quarter as he increased his FCS-leading touchdown passes total to 19 on the season. With 55 points, UND moved into second in the FCS in scoring, averaging 42.5 ppg during its 5-1 start.
Defensive Player of the Week
CB Myles Green, South Dakota State
6-0, 185, So., Homewood, Ill. (Homewood-Flossmoor HS)
Green came away with two fourth-quarter takeaways to help secure South Dakota State’s 31-14 road victory over Illinois State on Oct. 3. On the first play of the final stanza with the Jackrabbits holding a 17-7 lead, Green recovered a fumble forced by Noah Thompson at the SDSU 36 and returned it five yards. On the next Redbird possession, Green picked off a pass at the ILS 31-yard line and returned it down the right sideline for his first career touchdown. Green also was credited with three tackles as part of a strong defensive effort by the Jackrabbits.
Special Teams Player of the Week
P Brook Honore Jr., South Dakota
6-0, 190, R-Sr., Manvel, Texas (Manvel HS)
A deceptively busy day for the punter saw him with six punts but average 51.5 yards per boot. He notched a new career-long with a 70-yard punt in the fourth quarter that pinned Indiana State on their own 1-yard line. Three of his six punts ended up inside the Sycamore 20-yard line as South Dakota won the field position battle – and game – 44-14.
Newcomer of the Week
WR Cameron Weir, North Dakota
5-9, 163, So., Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (Washington State)
Weir scored multiple touchdowns for the second straight week as No. 5/7 North Dakota routed Murray State 55-28 after overcoming a slow start. The sophomore wide receiver also hauled in a career-high five catches for 35 yards in the Homecoming win. His first touchdown came on a 57-yard punt return that evened the score at 21-21 after the Fighting Hawks had falling behind by three scores early in the contest. He would set up UND across midfield with an 18-yard punt return in the third quarter and cap that drive with a 17-yard touchdown reception to put the Fighting Hawks ahead 38-21. Weir finished the contest with a career-high 106 all-purpose yards.
Offensive Lineman of the Week
RG Caleb Olson, North Dakota
6-3, 306, Gr., Fort Ransom, N.D. (Lisbon HS)
Olson graded out at 84 percent on 51 snaps as the Fighting Hawks' ground game churned out a season-high 303 yards and three touchdowns in the 55-28 victory over Murray State. He also did not allow a pressure or sack, helping the offense rack up 489 total yards of offense and 30 first downs. UND scored 50-plus for the second time this season and is now averaging 42.5 ppg, which is second best among FCS teams.
