Cowboys Overwhelm Racers in Stillwater

The Murray State Racers (1-3) fell to the Oklahoma State Cowboys (2-1) by a score of 59-0 on Saturday night at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Okla.

The Racers started the game with a spark on offense, opening the afternoon with a 15-yard strike from Jim Ogle to Jaxon Potter on an opening-play flea-flicker. While that drive did not result in points for the Racers, they picked right back up on the following drive, going 56 yards on 7 plays in a drive that was highlighted by a 38-yard connection from Ogle to Dimitri Howard.

Murray State elected to kick a field goal on fourth-and-5 on the Cowboys' 14, and kicker Tyler Dorn hit the initial kick; however, the points were wiped off the board due to a delay-of-game penalty against the Racers. The following attempt was blocked, leaving the Racers with no points on their longest drive of the game.

Cedric Henderson and Milton White Jr. provided another highlight for the Racers with 47 seconds to go in the first half, when Henderson knocked the ball away from Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker, and White recovered the fumble.

On the day, the Racers generated 160 yards, with Jim Ogle going 13-of-21 for 79 yards in place of an injured Collin Shannon and Baxter Wright going 1-of-2 for 5 yards with an interception. Dylan Embry led the way on the ground with 26 yards on 2 carries, with a long of 20 yards, while Jaxon Potter had 4 receptions for 30 yards.

Oklahoma State totaled 662 yards on the evening, and the nation's passing leader from 2025, Drew Mestemaker, finished the day 20-of-22 with 324 yards and 5 touchdowns. Justin Bowick had 9 catches for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns.
