Another National Honor -- For the seventh time this season an MVFC player has earned National Player of the Week honors from Stats Perform. QB Beau Brungard of Youngstown State set a school record with 528 yards of total offense as the Penguins beat Illinois State, 40-35.
Two MVFC Teams Start 7-0 -- In MVFC history (and counting this season), 15 league teams have started a year 7-0 - all 13 previous teams reached the playoffs - the last nine reached Frisco.
What’s the Rush? -- A pair of MVFC players are among the top four in the FCS in rushing yards per game. QB Beau Brungard of Youngstown State leads the MVFC with his 132.42 per game average. He’s the top rushing QB in the FCS and ranks third nationally. His 927 total rush yards is climbing the all-time single-season leaderboard in league history for rushing by a QB. L.J. Phillips Jr. of South Dakota ranks just behind Brungard with 132.37 yards per game this season. His 1,059 total rush yards in eight games is an FCS best.

Max Tomczak of Youngstown State ranks fourth among active FCS players for receiving yards, while Bryce Lance of NDSU ranks fifth among active FCS players for receiving TDs. Only 10 former MVFC players have eclipsed 3,000 career receiving yards. Only seven in MVFC history have grabbed 30 TD receptions.
